We seek to grow deep in faith, in choral excellence, and in compassionate care for the vulnerable and marginalised.

St Andrew’s has long been a place of generous faith — including the consecration of the first Bishop for the Free and Independent America in 1784.
We give joyfully of ourselves, enabling worship, outreach, and a living witness in the heart of the city.
“Welcome to Saint Andrew’s Cathedral Church: Aberdeen, a sacred space in the heart of the city that has been a place of worship, welcome and hospitality for over three centuries.
Our story is both local and global. In 1784, Samuel Seabury was consecrated as the first bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States, an event that was pivotal in the formation of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Today, we continue that legacy of openness and connection, welcoming people from across Aberdeen, Scotland, and around the world.
St Andrew’s has always been a place of refuge and welcome. When Scottish Episcopalians faced persecution in the 18th century, our forebears created spaces of hospitality—welcoming rich and poor, learned and unlearned, native and stranger alike. That same spirit guides us today as we open our doors to all who seek a place of prayer, beauty, music and community.
Whether you come to worship, to experience our magnificent choral tradition, to explore our historic building designed by Archibald Simpson and enhanced by Sir Ninian Comper, or simply to find a moment of peace in the city centre, you are welcome here.
